All league administrators will enforce these rules on all race servers.
First of all, we race for fun, if you can't race for fun, don't bother racing with us. Remember, you don't have to win to be good or have fun!
These are the rules we race by. You don't need to learn them by heart, but you need to read through them, as they are important. They are for the sake of fun, both for you and your opponents, and they are in effect at all times. In case of a complaint against you, they will be used and enforced, so please, take the time to read and understand them fully before you register for any of our racing series.
Race Cars
- Add-On/Game Mod: TBA
- Carset: TBA
Server Settings
- Realism: Expert
- Wear Factor: Normal
- Race Length: 25% or posted laps
- Flags: Black Flag
- Pitroad Driving: Manual
- Game Patch: 1.80
Connecting
- You need to sign up prior to your first race. You need to do this using a valid e-mail address. You will not get last minute info and password for the server without doing this.
- You should connect to the server at least 15 minutes prior to qualifying. There will be warm-up laps before the race to check that everything is in order. Please be on time.
- You must select the ISDN option when you connect to the server. This lessens the strain on the server and maximizes performance for online multiplayer racing.
- You must make sure before the race that you do have the correct version of the track and add-on mod being used. We will not wait for anyone to download and install files.
- Those who have obvious warp and/or lag problems during warm-up will be asked to leave the server. In less serious cases, they will be asked not to qualify and start last, so that everyone can have a safe start.
Race Procedure
- At 8:30 EST sharp, we qualify. Enter your qualifying session as soon as possible to avoid delays. If you lose connection during qualify, you may reconnect and start last.
- After qualify you must click "ready" as soon as possible to avoid delay. Please remember that we come from different time zones and some may be pressed for time.
General Race
- No contact is allowed at any time. Due to the fact that neither humans, nor internet is perfect in any way, a nudge or a scratch is not deemed as contact. Anything harder may render a complaint and a punishment.
- Contact from behind is always more serious than contact side by side and will be punished thereafter. Any contact deemed deliberate will result in an instant ban from the series.
- The lead car always has the right to a corner. If two cars are alongside, the inside car has the right to the corner and the corner exit. Cars are not alongside until the front wheel is beside the opponents’ door at or before the turn in point of turn.
- If you spin off track, safe return to the track is your responsibility. Do not re-enter the track when there is incoming traffic; even if this means letting by the entire field of cars. Even if it wasn't your fault you spun.
- Overtaking is the responsibility of the overtaking car. Do not make a pass unless it's safe to do so. Even if the car in front is slowing you down.
- A driver may not sway back and forth on straights. One 'change of lanes' is allowed to line up for next corner. Deliberate blocking is not allowed and will most probably be punished.
- Cars being lapped must give way to lapping cars. A car being lapped must within one lap find a good spot to let the lapping car overtake.
- Sudden braking on straights to get an opponent to drive into you (brake checking) is not allowed and is most probably going to get you banned from the series.
- You must at all times keep two wheels on the racetrack surface or curbing. No passing or gaining positions on the apron or below any inside line, yellow or white.
Complaints & Punishments
- Any and all complaints should be sent by e-mail to the administrators of the series. Not sooner than 24 hours after the race finish, and not later than 48 hours after the race finish.
- The administrators and a panel of judges who remain undisclosed to the public will deal with the matter in a way they see fit. Their decision is final and will not be changed. Be confident that they will be fair.
- Possible punishments are as follows:
Forced to start last (can not qualify next race). 10 seconds added to race time. 20 seconds added to race time. 30 seconds added to race time. Disqualification (last race will not count). Ban from one race. Ban from series.
- Administrators and/or judges that are involved in an incident cannot be part of the judging panel.
- Please save your replay of all race events in case you are involved incident or are asked to help resolve a complaint.
- Please save your ‘results.txt’ in your add-on mod's main folder as well.
Points
- The points are given out according to this scale: 185, 170, 165, 160, 155, 150, 146, 142, 138, 134, 130, 127, 124, 121, etc.. 5 bonus points awarded for the leading 1 or more laps.
- Any starter will receive at least last position points.
- Those who lose connection or receive a DNF will be awarded last position points.
- 1 provisional allowed for 8 event or less series or 2 provisionals allowed for 9 event or more series. Provisionals will be awarded last position points. No driver substitutes allowed.
General Behavior
- As a driver, you must show sportsmanship at all times. This means treating your fellow racers with respect and courtesy. It also means using no foul language and to never hold a grudge on the track.
- Absolutely no chatting during the qualifying session.
- Chatting during a race session is frowned upon and is unnecessary. It is disturbing to drivers and excessive chat will be punished.
- There are a few exceptions to the 'No Chatting' rule. These are:
XXXX - this tells the others you're leaving pit. PPPPP - this tells the others you're about to enter pit road. <<<<< - Tells the car behind you to expect room and pass to the Left. >>>>> - Tells the car behind you to expect room and pass to the Right.
Car Choice & Paints
- You may choose any car you like that is not already spoken for (listed in the 'Drivers' section). If two drivers claim the same car or car number, the one who registered first will get it.
- Custom paints are accepted for the series. Please send them in a timely fashion so everyone can share them.
Sign up only if you plan to participate.
